IN WITH A PREVIEW OF THIS WEEK’S ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS IS 40/29’S KELLY JOHNSON. Can you believe we are already coming up on a week with Razorback football? Well–we are. Before we get to that– let’s talk about a cool festival happening in Fayetteville this week. The Roots Festival is now in it’s 5th year. Starting on Thursday–They’re going to have 10 stages– filled with community music acts. Also– movie screenings– local food– and gallery exhibits around town. Seriously guys– this is the line-up– there isn’t enough time in the segment for me to go through everything– so you should check it out if you want to go. Just look for the link under the ON TV tab of 40/29tv.com. The band Foreigner has 10 platinum albums, 16 top 30 hit singles–and is often called “one of the most popular rock acts in the world.” Friday– they’re coming to Rogers. Gates for the show open at 6 o’clock. Music starts at 7:30 The opening act for the show is “the uncrowned kings.” Alright- as promised– The Razorbacks–are back. Their first football game of the 2014 season is on Saturday. The Hogs are taking on Auburn in Alabama. It’s gonna be tough for our Hogs– ESPN has Auburn ranked #6 in the NCAA– USA today has them at #5. But we’re not giving up hope. We are going to call the hogs! You can too–just tune in to the SEC Network at 3, if you have it. Next week is their first home game. For just 5 dollars you can indulge in as much ice-cream as you can stomach at the Fort Smith Museum of History. They’re going to have all kinds of flavors and toppings to pick from so you can make your own sundaes. Bon appetit, friends. It’s from 2-4. I’m gonna go because I’m craving ice-cream now. Birthday Cake is my favorite flavor, in case you were wondering. I’ll see you tomorrow morning for 40/29 News Sunrise, starting at 4:30.
