Roof collapses at a Bond Hill business

Roof collapses at a Bond Hill business

APART YEARS OF HARD WORK.>>THIS IS NOT, DEFINITELY NOT A
NORMAL DAY. I’VE BEEN HERE 12 YEARS AT CITY
DASH AND THIS IS PROBABLY THE
MOST EXCITEMENT I HAVE EVER
SEEN. DAN: STEPHANIE LINKS WORKS RIGHT
ACROSS PARA DRIVE FROM ADVANCED
MOBILE FLEET SERVICES IN BOND
HILL. SHE HEARD AN EXPLOSION AT ABOUT
4:00 THIS AFTERNOON.>>WHEN I STOOD UP, I SAW THE
BLINDS IN THE BUSINESS ACROSS
THE STREET MOVING WHICH
TYPICALLY DOESN’T HAPPEN WHEN
THE WINDOW’S CLOSED, THEN
REALIZED THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE ROOF AND THE ROOF IS
YOU KNOW, CONSTRUCTED UP. DAN: CINCINNATI FIRE OFFICIALS
SAY THEY ARRIVED TO FIND THE
BUILDING PARTIALLY COLLAPSED
WITH A SMALL FIRE THAT
SELF-EXTINGUISHED. THEY COULDN’T GO INSIDE, BUT THE
OWNERS VERIFIED NO ONE WAS IN
THERE. FIRE CREWS SAY THE WAY THE
CINDER BLOCKS WERE THROWN INTO
THE NEARBY PARKING LOT WAS
INDICATIVE OF AN EXPLOSION. BUT THEY AREN’T SURE WHY THIS
HAPPENED.>>I JUST ASSUMED MAYBE SOMEBODY
WAS HEAVY ON THE GAS, NOT ENOUGH
ON THE BRAKE, BUMPED OUR DOCK
TOO HARD. DAN: INVESTIGATORS SAY THE
BUSINESS SPECIALIZES IN
SERVICING VEHICLES, AND EVERYONE
HAD JUST LEFT FOR THE DAY,
BEFORE THE COLLAPSE. PEOPLE WHO SEE WHAT’S LEFT, SAY
THAT’S A GODSEND.>>MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS, LORD, I
HOPE NOBODY WAS IN THERE. DAN: FIRE INVESTIGATORS SAY THE
BUILDING IS A TOTAL LOSS. THE OWNERS DID NOT WANT TO TALK
WITH US ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. LIVE IN BOND HILL, DAN GRIFFIN,
