My name’s Lawren Askinosie and I’m the Chief Marketing Officer of an international award-winning chocolate company. I’ve had the opportunity to shape our brand from its infancy and sort of usher it through into this new era of chocolate. And I always knew I wanted to work somewhere that allowed me to feel like I was part of something bigger, where I was making an impact, making a difference, and really living out my passion in my vocation, and this job just made sense. She is really the voice of the brand, and she’ll really reinforce the sort of ethos of the company and why we can’t accept less quality or why we have to really stick to our principles and our guiding values. I know that my education at Drury has made me better prepared. It absolutely transformed the way I think about not just education, but business and about my future. I’ve had to learn how to become more sophisticated, you know. I’m directing brand partnerships with corporations with Target and Anthropologie. There’s an element of sophistication that’s needed. Chocolate University allows us the opportunity to get to know some of the awesome young people in our community here, and in the case of our high school program, connect those students to students that we work with in rural southwestern Tanzania. It’s really an immersive, intensive leadership training program. It’s been a really fun ride, telling the story and trying to share craft chocolate with the world.
