Gary Douglas Changes Girl’s Singing Voice In 5 Minutes

Somebody who would like
to increase their singing voice that is not professional and is still
interested in creating their voice, that hasn’t done this before preferably,
that would be willing to come down and be a little “guinea pig” for us? Anybody, nobody? Okay come on down, honey.
And here’s Audrey ladies and gentleman. (applause) All right honey, we’ve got to have you standing
over here, so you’re looking at the camera. We’ll put you over here,
so you’re sort of facing them, but you don’t have to look at them, ok? So you’ve got a song you can sing? Yeah Good. So everything that makes you
think you cannot be a great singer, everything you’ve been told about
how you’re not good enough, everything you tried to buy,
about how you’re not good enough, everything that makes you think that you aren’t extraordinary in what you have to sing, and everything that makes you think you’re not
really greater than you possibly can perceive, will you revoke, recant, rescind, reclaim, renounce, denounce, destroy and uncreate it all? Yes. Right & wrong, good & bad, POD & POC, all nine, shorts, boys and beyonds. Ok, would you sing a song for me? Ehhh Yeah… Okay, so everything that is,
everything that makes you nervous, everything that makes you think you
can’t do this and everything makes you think: Oh my God I’m going to fail and
everybody will make fun of me and everybody is going to laugh – they’ll
laugh anyway, not because of that – everything that is will you revoke, recant, rescind, reclaim, renounce, denounce, destroy and uncreate it? Yes. Right & wrong, good & bad, POD & POC, all nine, shorts, boys and beyonds. Okay, so sing for me.
Okay, ready? Yeah. (singing) First I was afraid I was petrified,
kept thinking I could never live without you by my side So many nights just thinking how you did me wrong, then I grew strong and I learned how to get along and so you’re back.
Ok, hold on just a minute, okay? Good. So what’s the song about? I will survive. Surviving after someone breaks up with them. Oh, you mean it’s about sex and
relationship? Yeah So everything you don’t remember about sex and relationships from all your other lifetimes, about what it’s really about,
the breaking up and all that stuff and the terrible sadness and trauma and drama
and all the terrible things that can go wrong, will you revoke, recant, rescind, reclaim, renounce, denounce, destroy and uncreate all that? Yes Right & wrong, good & bad, POD & POC, all nine, shorts, boys and beyonds. What I’d like you to do now, is to go out
a hundred miles in all directions. Feel the energy of all those people who are
sad and miserable, because of their break-up. Okay? And how miserable and terrible it is, and like: Oh my God, I’ve got to
go on anyway. Okay? Pull that energy into your body.
Now sing it again. (singing) First I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without by my side. But then I spent so many nights, just
thinking how you’ve done me wrong. Then I grew strong and I learned how to get along and so you’re back, from outer space, I just walked in to find you here
without that look upon your face, I should have changed that stupid lock,
I should have made you leave the key, If I had known to just one second
you’d be back to bother me, Oh now go…
Good, that’s good. (Applause) I want to do a little work on you. I want you to start and I’m gonna ask you to stop, because what I want to do is
unlock your voice and your chest, so that you’ve got more air
and you’ve got more volume. So start again. I’m gonna say
stop and we’ll go from there. (Singing) First I was afraid, I was petrified
Hold on. Right there. Ok, all right…
Everything that is, right & wrong, good & bad, POD & POC, all nine, shorts, boys and beyonds. Ok, start again.
(Singing) First I was afraid I was petrified So, where you start your breath
before you start to sing. Okay, take a deep breath and then start to sing. (singing) First was afraid I was petrified, kept thinking I could never
live without you, by my side, but then I spent so many nights, just
thinking how you’ve done me wrong now I grew strong and I learned
how to get along and so you’re back Okay stop. Okay. all right. So, I what I want you to do, is to
sing this from your toes. Okay, all right. So start to
sing from your toes. (Singing) First I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side. But then I spent so many nights,
just thinking how you’ve done me wrong, And I grew strong and I learned how to get along, And so you’re back from outer space I just walked in to find you here
without that look upon your face, I should have changed that stupid lock,
I should have made you leave the key, If I had known for just one second,
you’d be back to bother me, Go on, now go. Okay, good (Aplause) So how did it feel to you, any different? What Iwant you to do is, you keep
doing this, I want you to do this. I want you to do everything
that puts it out this way. So I want you to sing
the first three lines and I want you to sing it from here. Okay.
(Singing) First I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side Stop. Okay, do it again. (Singing) First I was afraid,
I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side Cool. Did you guys just hear
a difference in that? Yeah. Yeah, it’s a lot more power, a lot
more presence in that. I hate to say it, but your body
is saying that’s all we can do. Do don’t practice anymore tonight, but we’ll ask you
to demonstrate tomorrow and see what difference occurs. (Aplausse) So, who sang yesterday? Audrey, come on up. How adorable your dress is.
Thank you. She asked her body what dress it wanted to wear. (cheering) This is a woman. Come on honey, sing for us. Shall I do the same song? Yes please. Do you remember how it starts? No, I don’t remember what song it was.
Okay right. (singing) First I was afraid, I was petrified. Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side And then I spent so many nights,
just thinking how you did me wrong, And I grew strong
and I learned how to get along, And so you’re back, from outer space, I just walked in to find you here
without that look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key If I had known for just one second
you’d be back to bother me Oh, now go, walk out the door
Just turn around now, ’cause you’re not welcome anymore Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye? Did you think I’d crumble,
did you think I’d lay down and die? Oh, no, not I, I will survive, As long as I know how to love,
I know I’ll stay alive I’ve got all my life to live
I’ve got all my love to give I will survive, I will survive, hey, hey (Applause) That was beautiful. Thank you. Anybody see any improvement? And Audrey? Yeah, it feels a lot different A whole new person.
How is your body feeling? Wonderful! Would you like some change?
