Dealing with Recurring Nightmares with Sleep Health Expert Dr. K

Hi, I’m Dr. K! Today we’re going to talk
about recurring nightmares. Recurring nightmares are exactly how they sound. If
you’re having a nightmare that’s occurring again and again, there is a way
to change it. It’s called imagery rehearsal therapy. At some point during
the day, write down your dream and when you get to the point that makes you the
most anxious, change the ending of your dream! Practice this new dream for a few
minutes every single day and over time the dream content will likely change. If
you’re having terrible nightmares and it’s disrupting your sleep, imagery
rehearsal therapy is best done with the help of a sleep expert so consider
talking to your doctor. Until next time, I’m Dr. K wishing you a scientifically
sound good night’s sleep.
