Dealing with Pressure – Money In Real Life with Jessie Reyez

Asking questions is half the battle and not being embarrassed. I feel like fear is so crippling sometimes. My name is Byron Wilson, and this is someone I spend too much time with Jessie Reyez. It’s not just about money., but how can you get it without crushing your spirit? Totally. What can you do that’s going to help you lead a happy life and also get money simultaneously? Because doing something you hate, it’s gonna suck. It’s not going to be fun. And if you can, wouldn’t you want to make your life like the best you can make it? Figure out what you love to do and try that. If you’re going to be an artist, you just have to be very aware that it’s a risk. It’s scary. It’s a gamble. It’s going to take time before you ever see a dollar. I was lucky I had my parents. I was lucky I was living at my parent’s house. And I had to be okay with not feeling the pressure, being twenty something and living on my own because everybody moved out. I’m still with my folks, but it was just something I had to do and I had to be okay with it. I’m happy I made that decision. I’m happy I didn’t feel pressure to move out. I’m happy that they were there for me supporting me. Asking questions is half the battle and not being embarrassed. I feel like fear is so crippling sometimes, but fear just comes from being worried about what other people are going to think. The second you can get over that, you’ll be happier.
