We are going to celebrate queer, amazingness, and
fabulousity and just all the freaks and beauties that are
out here to give you shows. So come on out and let’s see what’s up. (crowd cheering) “Hi Logo!” – Okay y’all, we are here the one and only NINA WEEEEEEESSST!! – What is going on Bushwiiiiiiiiiiigggggg? Seriously, like doing
this gig tonight is like.. it’s legendary. – Yes – And it’s like we’re, like,
it’s like, it is like Coachella of drag – It is – and like when you get to
step on the stage in front of this audience, you are,
I don’t know, I don’t know it’s just different. – Yeah – It’s just a different vibe
and it’s so many queer pe.. It’s just so queer. – Yeah – (Nina) And that’s what’s so
great. Like drag, right now, is we’re, we’re, we’re in like
this really crazy golden age of drag, right. So, you
know, so we’re performing for a lot of like our heterosexual counterparts. But, to perform tonight,
in front of a queer crowd, and like have all of this fun,
like that’s what it’s about. And that’s what the art form’s about and that’s where it began. – It’s so wonderful to be here at Bushwig. That’s right, Bushwig.
I’m enjoying myself. I’m so happy to be here
because I’ve wanted to be here for awhile. I’ve heard about
it and I wanna be apart of it, part of the momentum,
part of the energy, part of New York. Wow!(makes firework noise) Horror chata! – That’s me. Horrorchata.. at your service – At your service. – The mother of Bushwig. The house of Bushwig,
and she’s out here baby. How you doing mama? – I’m doing fabulous,
you know just enjoying the festival, oh my god. – (Merrie) And I know you’ve
been asked so many times, but its important, what’s your favorite part of Bushwig? – I wanna say this right
now, you know, it’s that, you that second you’re
about to go on stage and you have that like almost
you’re nervous, but you’re not but you’re more excited? – Yes – That, like, you’re about
to just do and slay a number. I think that’s one of my
favorite moments of Bushwig, is you’re at also just
like you’re almost done with your gig. Cus you are like, okay, let me
do this number, and it’s like it’s fine. You know? – Yeah, I bet you get wasted. – Then it’s like honey, the
vodka’s all night long.(laugh) – Right – Welcome to Bushwig. Is
this like your first Bushwig? – No it’s third? – It’s my fourth. – Oh, cool. Okay. What makes you keep coming back? – Uh, I mean honestly, it’s
like the best queer party you can find in New York

the fact that you’re from Vancover and you came out here For.. Bushwig. – Yeah! – Um, why? – Why not? Bushwig’s like the biggest, isn’t it the biggest drag
festival in the world? – I think it is. _ Don’t you think Canada’s
biggest drag super star here? (obnoxious laugh) – Of course. And you are here, honey. – I don’t know where they
are, but I came instead. (obnoxious laugh) – Oh my God! (upbeat music) – We are here with the
leg-and-ary Untitled Queen from Brooklyn, New York. – Uh.. all right so baby,
um you and I, like me, um, you’ve been apart of Bushwig
since the be-gin-ing. – Darling, 700 years ago. – So baby, what do you
love about, uh, Bushwig? Cus it’s changed. Bushwig’s
changed over the years. Drastically. But we still do what we do. Why do you do what you do for Bushwig? – I love Bushwig because
I think it’s a celebration of what we call backyard
heroes. It’s our local heroes. But now our backyard is
expanded to the world honey. So it still has the heart and
soul of really celebrating people you know, but bringing
your locals to a new place and, like exposing it to everyone else. So that’s why I love it. – Oh, that’s actually one of
the best answers I..(laughs) – I’ve been thinking about it for 7 years. – Alright you guys, it’s
nighttime at Bushwig and we are kiki-ing it backstaaaaage!!! (audience cheering) – Uh, tonight, I am red touches
yellow on the dead fellow king’s snake, coral snake tonight. Can’t speak through these fangs. – Oh, hello. – I’m giving you Sucie and the Banchies took too much methadrone. – In my eyes, you’ll
always be a Brooklyn girl, but you’re a Brooklyn girl, then…you.. moved to LA for like 2 and a half? – Almost 2 years. – Almost 2 years. – And from what I hear from the streets, you’re moving back to Brooklyn? – Uh, so I’m moving back to
Brooklyn basically because LA is boring (laughs) I miss my girls. I miss the
art. I miss differences..es..es and I miss the culture, so I
wanna move back to Brooklyn with my sisters and live my life. – And I love LA, but, at the 4’o clock moment
is a thing that we love. – All right y’all, we finally
found Lucy Stoole. (laughs) How ya doing baby? – I’m doing pretty good.
How are you doing Merrie? – Good. What, what would you say is your like aesthetic in drag? – I would be a cupcake, uh,
at a S&M dungeon. You know? That’s my aesthetic. Delicious and pretty filthy. – My favorite thing about
doing drag is the feeling of taking those shoes
off at the end of the day and thinking, I just did that. – And my favorite thing
about doing drag is the money and attention. – You’re just like a rock
‘n’ roll chick aren’t ya? – I like the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, I don’t know that I like it
so much, is, it is a imposed upon me because I drink, I
smoke, and I sleep during the day. But that’s something,
you’re a rock ‘n’ roll-er too. – No, actually I go to church
on Sunday and Wednesday, but thank you. (laughs) PARTY!!! Hand me that beer, bitch! (upbeat music) – I enjoy being a transvestite,
a top notch transvestite. And to be around everybody and
seeing what they are doing, and their expression, Wow, what a form. What a shape. What a production. – Wooo! That was cute, right?
