Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) Round Two

Business Research and Innovation Initiative (BRII) Round Two

(upbeat electronic music) – The Business Research and
Innovation Initiative Programme provides small to medium sized enterprises with grant funding to
develop innovative solutions for government policy and
service delivery challenges. The five challenges for this round are fast and secure digital
identity verification for people experiencing
family and domestic violence, intelligent data to transform
tourism service delivery, uplifting government
capability to help deliver world leading digital services, managing the biosecurity
of hitchhiking pests and contaminants on shipping containers, and automating complex determinations for Australian government information. (upbeat electronic music) BRII provides small and medium enterprises with critical early
stage financial support for the development of
new to-market innovations and boosts their experience with government procurement contracts. They also get to retain
their intellectual property to be able to commercialise their ideas. There are two stages to the programme. The first stage is the
feasibility study stage. You submit an application,
a decision will be made, and grants of up to
$100,000 will be awarded for projects to be completed
within three months. Businesses that successfully
complete a feasibility study can then apply for a
proof of concept grant of up to one million dollars to develop a prototype of
their proof of concept idea. This is over a period of up to 18 months. If you believe you can solve
the Million Dollar Challenge, please visit the website. (upbeat electronic music)
