Fifty shades of white…

I’m going to tell you a long story in pictures. About that time we bought our boat and wanted to paint the walls white….

In the beginning the walls were a little too green for my taste, the curtains a little too ‘circus’ and the couch smelled of dog or cat or maybe both?

There was a witch hanging from the roof and it dawned on me that what is cosy for some isn’t for others.

We worked night and day, my Superman and I, we ripped out every tiny bit that smelled or rotted and decided to keep what was still working. We had a plan regarding style, a Scandinavian plan that never fails: “Paint it white!”

So we went to the store and asked for white paint. “What shade of white would you like?” the professional shop assistant asked us. “We would just like white,” we answered with our very Scandinavian accents and made sure we bought enough paint so we didn’t have to come back again.

We worked all night.

Then we woke up the next morning…

How could the room still be green after all that hard work?

“Simply exquisite” was the name of the shade of white we’d bought which actually was a shade of, yes you guessed it, green.

We want back to the store and this time we walked out of there with the only kind of white paint there is – white.

We started over, emptied a bottle of wine, worked day and night.

And finally, at last…. white walls!
