Tuning In To Autumn…

I’ve made a couple of fashion faux pas this week. Karl Lagerfeld would have shot me if he’d seen me. Not because he’s mean, but because I’ve been walking around looking like a homeless person, wearing everything I own. I can explain: The chimney broke and my winter clothes were packed away. It’s been cold and I’ve had to wear one t-shirt over the other, skirt over dress and socks over shoes. Ok, I might be exaggerating just a little bit; but without a chimney, there is no fire and without fire, the boat is cold. I’ve finally found my old, warm clothes and prepared for cold surprises. I’ve made my wardrobe ready for autumn and I have done this without shopping. The cool thing about having a small part of your wardrobe on your two shelves is that it feels like a trip to Zara when you unpack what you’ve put away. I had forgotten some nice pieces of clothing that I already own, ka-ching!

How to get your wardrobe ready for fall:

1. Dig out your woollen underwear. If you don’t own any long johns or tank tops made of 100 % wool, then I suggest you steal your grandmother’s ASAP.

2. Imagine what you would look like if you could go crazy with your mastercard right now (and lived in New York.)

Take a good look at the shoes you already have. Try them on – all of them. See how they look with different types of jeans – try all the shoes with all the jeans, skirts and dresses you have. Chose your favourite combinations. Pack the leftovers.

At this stage it’s all about which jeans/shoe combination goes with what top, sweater, jacket, hat, bag. Mix and match. Have fun. Make a few hardcore decisions. Only keep the outfits you want to wear right away.

5. Neatly fold the pieces you will keep this season, put them in your closet and voilá: Autumn 2015, ready to-wear.

SORTER HØSTGARDEROBEN – en how to guide.

Ka-ching!

Sånn gjør du garderoben klar for høsten:

  2. Se for deg hvordan du ville se ut hvis du kunne gå amok med kortet akkurat nå (og bodde i New York.)
  5. Brett tøyet pent sammen, putt det i skapet og voilá: Høstkolleksjonen 2015- ready to wear.
